Introduction
This Trouble Ticket Tool is designed to eliminate the manual chore of entering paper tickets by providing you with a VBA-driven online form that automatically puts that information into an Microsoft Excel worksheet. This is a all purpose template so you can customize this anyway you need to suit your own needs.
Using the tool
To use this Ticket Tool, you will need to enable Macros. Then click the Trouble Ticket tab at the bottom of this workbook you’ll find a custom toolbar at the top with the following buttons:
New Ticket
Click this button to enter information about an incoming call or email help request. When you do, you’ll see the first tab of a form that prompts you to enter basic information about the call and the caller. The second and third tabs provide you with large note fields in which you can enter detailed information about the problem being encountered and the resolution steps you recommend or took. After you complete the form, click OK. The information will be entered in the appropriate columns of the main worksheet. If you don’t want to enter more information or have no more tickets, just click the Close Form button.
Update Ticket
Click this button if you need to update any of the information on the trouble ticket. Similar to the New Trouble Ticket form, this one includes a fourth tab that allows you to describe any follow-up calls in troubleshooting the problem. In addition, the Update Ticket form allows you to mark the problem as resolved.
Report
This tool is designed to capture 1000 tickets so the report will only reflect those tickets. The 1001 ticket will not be captured in the report.
Customization
The form and worksheet are designed to collect and record standard information about a caller and his or her particular problem. However, if changes are require, please do feel free to make changes on your own.
